CRYSTAL SERENITY CRUISE-UK/Ireland/Scotland /Whales itinerary: Crystal cruise line is a luxury line. All non-alcoholic beverages are included and there is a list of wines that are complimentary and also spirits and beer are included. Shore excursions are not included.
The ship is in the larger size for a luxury line, with about 1000 passengers. There are 4 dining options which include two specialty restaurants. The food is very good in all of them. On this ship, the two specialty restaurants were Italian and Japanese (Nobu).
Then there was the main dining room and a tapas restaurant. There are many things to do on the ship such as movie theatre, card room, library, casino, gym, spa, entertainment at every hour, many bars, pool, and many planned activities such as bingo, trivia, and many more. The entertainment is great.
They have live music throughout the day. At tea-time, there is a 4-person orchestra and also during happy hour, you will hear a mix of the orchestra and piano. The shows every night are great.
They bring in local talent from the ports you are at so it makes it a lot of fun. The staff is very friendly. There are many dining options also for breakfast and lunch.
They have a good selection of shore excursions although I like to get off of the ship and do my own thing. As for cabins, I would recommend getting a mid-ship cabin with a balcony and with Butler service. The gym is a good size and has all the necessary equipment.
They do some spinning and pilates classes. If you like the casino make sure to go to the tournaments they have. If you have more questions about the experience I had on this ship please message me.
ITINERARY: I didn’t particularly like this itinerary mainly because the weather was so cloudy and cold. They had to cancel 3 ports because the seas were so rough. Dublin is fun to walk around and pub hop and listen to all of the music.
In Belfast check out the titanic museum and eat lunch at the restaurant that is in the barge. In St. Helier just walk around the quaint town. In Portland go to Weymouth and walk around.
It is such a pretty little town. Make sure to check out the beach. In Scotland, we took the train to Glasgow and walked around the city, and did the hop and hop-off bus.
All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this itinerary so much. The ship is great but choose an itinerary with more sunshine and better scenery.
